Welcome to the website. I'm glad you stopped by. The website is currently still under construction as I'm sure you can see. There are links up top, but most of them don't work yet as Ottriginals is in its infancy. So let's get you the low-down of what we're about and what we're doing.

Where We Are

Currently I'm working on building an online presence on Twitch by playing games to pass the time and chatting with whoever shows up which provides the raw footage for where things are right now. I stream on every day of the week except Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I'm editing videos to create highlights and shorts for posting to YouTube on the days I'm not streaming. Currently I'm quite consistent on Twitch with only minor hiccups when something comes up in my personal life. On youtube I'm working on developing a daily upload schedule to ensure that I never neglect either audience. The hope is that consistent and active interaction will help people find Ottriginals.

Next Steps

Growing the community engagement is my current goal so that I can reach the goal of not having to work a traditional "job". I'm sure that's a common goal. To reach this goal, I'm working on both Twitch and YouTube; in addition I have a compulsion to make weird designs which I sometimes feature on my Twitch streams as backgrounds and intend to start putting up on a pop-up shop on Printful for people to purchase. I also am going to be injecting streams, as soon as I find participants that can reliably do so, to have live discussions on topics I find important as well as weird tangents about life and the world around us. These will then be premiered on YouTube once my community has grown enough to have an audience I can engage with as the video progresses. I'm also keeping hold of a discord server under the Ottriginals name with the intention to have a reliable touch-point for community engagement with me and any of my discussion buddies who want it. The discussions will be in-depth about topics that people suggest on Discord and everywhere I can be found. My personal discussion topics center around society, community, mutual-aid, and the building of a better future for everyone. Sounds cheesy, I know. But, that's where the future goals come in.

The Future of Ottriginals

While my short-term goals are to entertain, inform, and build a community so that I can support myself; my ambitions go much further than that. Ottriginals is meant to be the fuel for the more important work of creating IRL community resillience through mutual-aid, technology assistance, food security, and generally strengthening the bonds of benevolence as far around the world as we can. Beyond a reasonable living expense for myself and my children, the income I receive will be put towards projects that help ensure that communities have what they need, collaborate with surrounding communities, and create a network of networks where people help each other to thrive. Some of the initiatives that I've already started prototyping and developing on my limited budget are
  • Low cost portable computer systems for people who don't have the money for a storebrand computer (supplied for free)
  • Establishing over-air communications networks for communities and community services to provide internet-independence for
    • Food bank services coordination
    • Mutual aid request boards
    • Information sharing regarding food security and sharing
    • Coordination of both community and intercommunity projects
    • Community and intercommunity based news feeds
  • Creating a protocol for ethical community work that allows geographically distant collaborators the ability to identify, collaborate with, and encourage each other
  • Establishing a non-hierarchal approach to community decision-making
If any of the things I've mentioned above interests you; f you only want to support the growth of the community through word-of-mouth; if you want to contribute through lending your skills and time; or you want to contribute financially to Ottriginals you are welcome to do so. I'm working on creating as many avenues as possible so that what I'm building will have the greatest impact through the cooperation of people. This is not a registered NGO, or charity. The money I make from running Ottriginals will simply be given to the projects as a gift. When finances start coming in above what I require to take care of myself, a permanent page detailing both my net income from Ottriginals and the amount of money spent/earmarked for project use will be available here as well as during a weekly review on the Twitch livestream to ensure that everyone can see the result of their contribution. The weekly review will also be a place for us to share the growing impact that we are making in the world.
